MY STORY

I’m Tim Gonzalez, an Army veteran and owner of Paragon Drone Imagery, LLC, a Baltimore Metro area provider of aerial imagery services.

            I was fascinated with aircraft as a child, but my life and career followed a different track. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and joined the United States Army a year later. After an enlistment intercepting morse code, I commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer, learning the critical importance of accuracy, precision, and responsiveness. I served with the Active Army for nine years and later was appointed to the Maryland Army National Guard, full time. I retired in 2016 after 27 years of active federal service, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.  I earned a Master of Science degree in Management from University of Maryland Global Campus after redeploying from Afghanistan. I am currently attending Community College of Baltimore County for its Associate of Applied Science Program for “Professional Pilot – Unmanned Aircraft Systems.”

            I took up photography three years before retiring and it rapidly became a passion. Before finishing my military career, I earned a real estate sales associate license in Maryland and taught myself real estate photography. Real estate sales reinforced for me the importance of faithful, responsive client support and coordination with all key stakeholders in a real estate transaction.

            The increased presence of drones for recreational and commercial use attracted my attention, and I resolved to purchase a drone to explore these possibilities.

            After passing the FAA Part 107 exam for the Remote Pilot Certificate, I founded Paragon Drone Imagery to help people and businesses conquer challenges and solve problems. I am truly excited that my childhood interest in aircraft and flight is melding with years of professional experience to provide a superior drone service for my community.

            Besides my passion for photography, I’m a lifelong guitarist. More importantly, I am the father of a son who is a former Marine.
